Sometimes the words come so easily when writing these BPP’s (blog post peek’s!). Other times, I sit and stare at the computer screen for what seems like forrrrrrrever, and only get (maybe) one good sentence in! I’m not a writer, but i feel like it’s important to tell the story behind the images, so I try. Some images tell a story all on their own, and truthfully, if I become who/what I aspire to be, they all will.

I feel like this session was such a great example of that. I’ve sat and thought of what to write, and how I can describe, and tell you all about the remarkable young woman in these images, and I’ll look back at them for inspiration, and there it is.

There are no words needed.

She wears them, carries them…. they’re in her eyes, her smile, and the way she carries herself.

She’s the girl you hope your little girl will grow up to be.

I know her family is incredibly proud of her, and just in awe…. little Lettie’s a Senior!

Here’s your sneak peek!

October 16, 2012 T&Z West

I just can’t get enough of this Fall sunshine!

On yet another beautiful Fall day, I met Tim & Zach beachside.

With the tide out, we had plenty of squishy-ness to walk through and puddles to hop over – my favorite!!

Though brothers, twins even, Tim and Zach certainly have their differences.

Tim made me work for a smile…

One on one time with the camera? I could tell he just wasn’t a fan. (Honestly, neither am I! Yet another reason why I chose a career behind the camera!) So we joked and laughed and tried to make it as painless and fun as possible. I even had to admit, though working for the laughs and comfortable, genuine smiles, he could pull off one killer serious look!

Zach was a different story. He liked that camera time.

He didn’t come right out and say it, but the smiles, smirks and readiness to turn, move and basically do anything I asked…. well that said it for him!

All in all. we were able to get some great shots with some great personality showing through for both Tim and Zach.

Especially when they were out of earshot ;)

September 4, 2012 Plymouth South Senior

I recently had the pleasure of getting together with Joshua for his senior session.

I actually remember the day Joshua was born, and have had the pleasure to watch him grow into the amazing young man he is today.

 He’s my youngest brother.

We had a lot of laughs, walking through Ellisville State Park and looking for little nooks and areas to photograph in.

I’m sure Josh is still laughing at the “cool looking trees” I wanted him to stand by….   “Amy, that’s Poison Oak…”

Oops.

These were some well groomed poison oak  trees!

All in all, it was just a great time, hanging out and being goofy….

Definitely another great memory made.

Of course, I wouldn’t being doing my job as his big sister if I didn’t add a funny little blooper.

I’ll spare you all, and just choose one of the many!

We’re just a goofy kind of family! ;)

Love you Josh!

August 30, 2012 Marshfield Senior

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Joy, and her son Marcus for a Senior photo session.

Since he lives right by the ocean and the dunes, we didn’t have to go far to find his first favorite location. As in, we crossed the street.  What a view from your front door!!  LOVEloveLOVE!!

We did, however, trek up and over and through the sand dunes looking around at different areas and angles, and -OH MY!- I felt like I’d signed up for a beach boot camp!!  Marcus was amazingly able to put on the best, most genuine smile in between the huffing and puffing we were both doing from our workout.  Amazing, really!

We did manage to find areas to rest, and talk, and smile, and even a shady spot to feel the breeze for a little bit.

When we left I had my very only ankle weights – about a pound of sand in each pant cuff, and my feet were totally exfoliated!

Oh, how I love multitasking!!

Our next location was the Veteran’s Memorial Park; a little easier terrain and nice and shady.

We did share the small area with another photographer in a senior session, but since they were sort of ‘frolicking’ and that wasn’t exactly on our agenda, we managed to share the area well, while getting all that we needed! ;)

We timed ourselves perfectly too, as the lighting was just amazing for us at the park!

I had a great time! Boot camp and all! ;) Just wait until you see the rest!

Stay tuned!

September 19, 2011 Knitting a sweater.

Maybe I should be upfront right from the beginning and let you all know that I’m not really knitting a sweater.  I don’t know how to knit at all, actually.  I would love to learn someday though.  I bought this “knitting for kids” kit once; figuring i could start with that and feel accomplished with the cute pair of gloves in the kit.  Nope.  I didn’t get past the second or third step!  Haha!  I just didn’t understand what they were saying to do and the pictures weren’t clear, so I eventually gave up.

Anyway, I’m getting off subject….  reign me in!

While driving home from my beach session with some brand new clients this morning, it made me smile to think of how, once again, they’re all connected.  No mafia connections or anything;  I just mean that most all of my clients were referred by my clients.  There’s this whole ‘circle of life’ thing constantly happening where we’re saying, “oh, you know them?”.  I love it.

I love client referrals. I love word of mouth.  I seriously love you all for all that you do in sharing your experience and recommending LmZ Photography to your friends.

On Saturday I had a Senior session that was another of the same scenario. They’d heard of me from a friend, who’d previously referred me to a relative, who then referred me to their friend as well, and all of those new clients knew these people (who were neighbors of….well, one of them), so they all passed on their experience & recommendations!  (Head spinning yet?) That’s where the knitting part comes in.  This morning I thought; “If I had visible strings from one referral to another to another, to show where everyone’s connected and who knows who, I’d probably have the most intricately knitted sweater ever! (I don’t know where I come up with these things – i’m a dreamer…)

So here’s another piece of my sweater…

I met with Shane and his Mother on Saturday morning for some Senior portraits.  Shane was so incredibly easy to work with.  He understood my weird facial expression requests and came equipped with a few ‘personalities’ of his own. (No, not the crazy person kind!)  He was easily able to switch expression modes, laugh with me (possibly at me…), and tromp though the muck in his clean white shoes (hope they came clean for you!!  sorry!!), and chill with the seagulls and ducks like a true pet detective! ;)

I had a lot of fun, and just loooooooove the images we ended up with!!

I won’t keep you waiting any longer:
