Today’s Blog catch-up brings us a familiar face on the Blog, website, and even Facebook of LmZ! I met this little guy as a little baby bump, and have had the pleasure of capturing him grow for two years now! He’s 2!
I know! I can’t believe it either!

This guy had an itinerary for the day…and I’m not sure I was on it, unless I was assisting in feeding the animals! Though he did pause to show me his muscles… kind of out of nowhere… and I did get some sneaky smiles and some eye contact with those baby blues!
I’ll take it!

What else is so awesome about catching up with the most handsome 2 year old at the local farm?

Being photo-bombed by a sheep! Ha!

Sometimes the words come so easily when writing these BPP’s (blog post peek’s!). Other times, I sit and stare at the computer screen for what seems like forrrrrrrever, and only get (maybe) one good sentence in! I’m not a writer, but i feel like it’s important to tell the story behind the images, so I try. Some images tell a story all on their own, and truthfully, if I become who/what I aspire to be, they all will.
I feel like this session was such a great example of that. I’ve sat and thought of what to write, and how I can describe, and tell you all about the remarkable young woman in these images, and I’ll look back at them for inspiration, and there it is.
There are no words needed.
She wears them, carries them…. they’re in her eyes, her smile, and the way she carries herself.
She’s the girl you hope your little girl will grow up to be.
I know her family is incredibly proud of her, and just in awe…. little Lettie’s a Senior!

Here’s your sneak peek!

Well, we all know how I feel about babies!!
(especially the brand new tiny, wrinkled, pouty lip kind!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!)
Ok…compose.
___
I was very excited to hear of the arrival of the adorable Mr Finn, and even more excited to schedule a photo session with him!
Immediately upon meeting him, I couldn’t get over how alert and focused he was. He would watch me move about the room in such a quietly focused way. Despite all efforts by both Mom & Dad to get him at his most full & tired point for our session, he was definitely aware that there was company, and he didn’t want to miss a thing!

For such a new little man, he has this quiet, inquisitive personality just bursting through those little eyes of his!
And, speaking of personality…. well, take a look;

This boy needs a modeling contract – STAT!!
♥
If you thought he couldn’t possibly get any cuter or make you “awww” at your computer screen any more, you were wrong!
While editing, I opened this image, and shouted so loud with excitement,
that all three of my children came running to see what was going on or who was in trouble!

♥♥♥
Right?!

I just LOVE this kid!!
I know, i can sense your eye roll from here… What kid don’t I love, right?
But seriously…this kid’s kind of awesome. Duck faces & all.

Say it isn’t so! You know you can’t!
♥
Let’s get back on track here… after all, this handsome little man didn’t come alone, and this Blog post is, after all, titled ‘Ross Family’ – so let’s not forget about Mom & Dad!!
(Though, since our first ever meeting for a maternity session ended with “You’re cool and all, but it’s you’re baby I’m really after…”, and they still called me back – I think they get me! We’re good!)
The day was unbelievably beautiful and sunny, ALL day…. that is, right up until a half hour before our session! The temp dropped, the fog and clouds rolled in…I was waiting to hear the thunder claps and downpour of rain. It rained for maybe all of 60 seconds, and there was no thunder to be heard, so we decided to go for it, and just have fun with it – after all, everyone was all ready!!

I’m so glad we did!
We got some great shots, and as you can see… my favorite little man wasn’t going to let a little bit of weather (or a photo session) phase his plans! ♥

Its been pretty quiet on the Blog lately… Too quiet!!
I’ve been keeping busy with sessions, Wedding meetings & prep, planning some Summer Portrait Parties, and also have a lack of progress studio to update you on…. (Ugh!) But I’ll stick that in my pocket for another day, another Blog post!

Right now, how about a peek at a fabulous little girl’s first Birthday session?!

I warned you… I said she was fabulous!
I can’t believe you doubted me…
♥ ♥ ♥
So here’s a little back-story… sometimes fabulous requires sleep. It takes a lot of energy to keep all that fabulocity flowing. This little lady was so excited about our photo session, that she could barely sleep the night before! Like… at all. So, we made some adjustments and moved quickly so she could go home, catch up on her Zzz’s, and we’d continue to catch her, in all her fabulous-ness, another day.

As you can see, it was a, dare I say… Fabulous plan!
(ok, ok, I’ll stop!)
♥ ♥ ♥
Before you go though…
This little lady’s actually not quite one. Her Birthday’s coming up soon though, so make sure you catch your kiss and wish her a very Happy Birthday on your way out!

So here’s what else I’ve been up to in 2013…
Snugglin with newbies!!
Anyone who even kind of knows me, knows that I’ve got quite the soft spot for babies…. (haha, soft spot!) SO, how ecstatic am I that everyone around me seems to be having them lately!?! Not only do I get to snuggle, hold and admire them, speaking soft, smiley, high pitched nonsense… but I’ve been able to get my camera on them to catch these precious, fleeting moments of their lives for their parents…. and once they cry or get a full diaper, I get to give them right back!
Sweet Baby J would have been happy to cuddle and snuggle with me all day long, no problem – well, unless it was feeding time, then I better lactate or get out of the way for someone who does! Putting her down for pictures, however, she definitely put me on more of a timer! She’d stare at my lens for a while, (likely wondering if maybe that would lactate) giving me soft sweet looks and hints of smiles, and then she’d give me a little pout and bat those lashes when she was done and it was time for me to move on.

Luckily, I had no problem following that routine, and we were an efficient little team!

Besides…. she’s got an adorably convincing face!
♥
I’m so glad to be able to be even a small part of her journey, watching & documenting her growth & beauty through the coming years!

This is the time of year that I usually tell my clients that they’ll hear from me when they’re session is ready, and not for the Blog Post Peek (BPP), as I’m busier than normal and also don’t want to ruin any Christmas gift surprises.
Well, I’m throwing my own rules out the window with this one, and I just don’t care who’s Christmas surprise I ruin!
(Totally kidding… that’d be terrible. What am I, the grinch?! The real gift is expected for the New Year anyway.)
I just had to share some of these images….

You may recognize these two.
They’ve definitely hung out on the Blog a couple of times, here & here.
I’m so glad they’re here again, this time to document another beautiful milestone in their journey together!

LOVEloveLOVE!
I just can’t wait to meet the newest little Jesse baby!!! ♥
That’s all folks!

It’s that time of year…
The air is fresh and crisp, the leaves are changing, and it is just B.U.tiful outside!!
Perfect for a stroll with a family and a camera… if I do say so myself!
(luckily, I don’t… and lots of you seem to agree; otherwise I’d be chasing down strangers on walks? Creeeepy! No thanks.)

So, while at first glance this image may not have pleaded my case well…
These were not random children I followed along with a camera!
Mom & Dad came along, and they even brought along Bear & Marlie, the family dogs! After all, if you’re getting family pictures done, why leave half the family at home?

We had a fun little stroll, exploring the area for nooks and crannies & unique places to pose by, goofing around with the kids, and watching our step verrrrry carefully, as, not only was it a little muddy, but also a popular dog walking area, so… y’know.

We managed to find quite a few sweet spots, and I was IN LOVE with so many images before i even got home!
In fact, it’s taken quite a bit of willpower to share just those sneak peek’s with you!!
