October 17, 2014 Moore Wedding

Upon first meeting Steven & Jennifer, it was clear that they adored each other.

They just had this way about them, where they spoke with such love to one another, and always asked for the other’s opinion or input. We discussed their Wedding plans, which they’d already gotten pretty much all figured out, swooned over their adorable daughter Allison for a little bit, and that was that! They were booked, and before we all knew it, Wedding Day was quickly upon us!

While following, watching, and capturing different moments throughout their day, it came to me, that it was each of their selflessness that made them such an adorable and loving couple. While Jennifer wondered how Steven was doing, he was inquiring about her as well, making sure she was happy and well taken care of. Their selflessness extended even beyond each other, worrying over guests running into traffic, and the comfort of their family that awaited the ceremony. Jennifer, even fully dressed and ready to go, noticed her daughter struggling to fall asleep,  just slipped out of her gown to nurse her without the slightest hesitation.

It was just beautiful that during this day, where you’re allowed to be a bit more self absorbed and be catered to, each of them just couldn’t function in that way.

What wonderful people to have in your lives.

I’m thankful to have been able to get to know Michael & Tara a little more through their engagement session and our preparation meetings. The warm, loving way they’d look at each other while in conversation, even at our first meeting, had me anticipating catching their discreet looks and moments during their Wedding ceremony.

They certainly didn’t disappoint, as there were many of those sweet moments to capture throughout the day.

My favorite part of all (besides the watermelon sours at the candy bar!) was the fact that they’d chosen a daytime wedding. With the reception ending in the early evening, we had some time to sneak out afterward and get some fantastic shots on the waterfront. With the reception over, all worries, anticipations and time constraints were off, and that allowed Michael and Tara to relax and have a bit more fun!

It was great!

Even if they thought I was a little crazy….

I was so excited to have the opportunity to capture Matt & Stacey’s Wedding Day!

Stacey and I had worked together about six years ago, at a photography studio incidentally, and after leaving that company, had bumped into each other on only a few occasions since. They were usually pretty remarkable occasions, like when Matt’s band played at a local place downtown, or when they both met me with a donation for a gift basket for a little boy with cancer…

I’m glad to add another remarkable occasion like their Wedding Day to be able to ‘bump into them’ again!

Both Matt and Stacey really wanted to stay true to who they are on their Wedding day….

That meant something more casual and relaxed, handcrafted, surrounded by family, with the shortest possible amount of time focused on them, and of course, Transformers….

I’d say they achieved that! ♥

August 29, 2014 & Baby makes 3!

I’m loving the change I’ve made this year to switch my focus toward Weddings. It’s been amazing being able to focus my time and energy capturing such a momentous day in someone’s life. Quite often, however, those’s someone’s decide to expand their family and create a little one of their own. So what do I do when I get a call to photograph their new baby?

Well I do it! Duh.

Some rules were meant to be broken! If my own rule keeps me from getting to capture (& hold and snuggle) a new and adorable little baby, not to mention capture another momentous event in these someone’s lives…. well then that rule has got to go!

So here is the quite adorable Olivia:

SO worth a rule change! Right?!

I try not to be too repetitive in these Wedding posts, as it’s just too easy to say that every wedding I’ve photographed was beautiful and personal and so very touching…. because they are. They really all are, despite how completely different each and every Wedding is, I’m always brought to tears by someone, I’m always excited to catch the little details that have thoughtfully been put into the day, and there’s always a look on the Groom’s face, or sometimes maybe just his eyes, when he sees his Bride that I just live to capture.

This Wedding was no different. Except it was.

Paul and Abbie (ok, mostly Abbie, but Paul did help!) put so much thought into every detail of their Wedding Day. What started out as a “no theme” Wedding, quickly turned into this crafty, shabby chic, kind of beautiful DIY Wedding theme. It couldn’t have been more perfect, and was amazing to capture.

Their ceremony, officiated by a close childhood friend of Abbie’s, with readings from another friend, as well as Paul’s daughter, were heartfelt and touching, and, you guessed it – I found myself teary and desperate to blink them away so as not to miss a moment!

Then there’s the look. Paul may have been wearing sunglasses, but his smile was clearly ear to ear from the moment he laid eyes on her. I imagined him recalling that sign in his head; ‘Yep, here comes my girl.’

So how was it different?

Paul’s Best Man was truly man’s best friend. His dog walked him up the aisle and stood by his side. Instead of a flower boutonniere, she wore a burlap ‘Best Dog’ handkerchief of sorts, and she wore it well!

Paul and Abbie also had the only ceremony that I’ve ever photographed, or even witnessed, that started off with a selfie! It was hilarious, seemed to lighten pre-ceremony jitters, and even tapped into my strange love of photographing people taking photos… win!

I honestly can’t say enough about Paul & Abbie’s Wedding Day (clearly). It was such a beautiful day, filled with love, laughter and smiles throughout, a great reflection of who Paul and Abbie are, and it was all shared by happy, supportive and loving family and friends…

Who could ask for more?

August 8, 2014 Twins!

So we know I love babies…. I get that “empty arm syndrome” or whatever, whenever they’re near!!

Now picture this: TWIN. BABY. BOYS.

Yayyyy me!

I was so happy to get this referral (Thanks Rich!) and to be able to photograph these two!

At four months, they weren’t quite sitting on their own, and were sometimes a little reluctant with the smiles… and while there were some places in the house, and an outfit we didn’t get to, I almost left feeling like, “did I get what we wanted?”

There’s always that point when babies, kids… sometimes grownups, are just done. The boys had done a great job and were super patient with me… I just had to go with my gut that what we had was IT.

Wait for it…..

April 18, 2014 Bertoni Wedding

There is so much to say about this day, and so many images I want to share with you…

I’m going to try hard to reign it in, and not over share!

Steve and Kelly are ADORABLE.

Like, for real.

Starting with the way they smirk and giggle at each other (okay, Kelly might do most of the giggling…), to the loving, knowing glances I witnessed throughout the day, and then right down to every little detail in their Wedding day that they fit to perfectly reflect who they are.

Who are they? They’re happy, funny,  and truly sincere people. They’re people who love, and are loved by so, so many that not just two, but four, sincere, tear-inducing speeches were given during their reception. Each one a testimony of very specific reasons and instances that these two people impact the lives around them. There was even a plea for babies – and fast! (My favorite, so I’ll join the bandwagon on that one!! Yayyy Babies!!) Close ties of family and friendship were evident throughout the day, and the joy of their marriage was truly felt through both the laughter and tears from all that attended.

February 25, 2014 Caramello Wedding

To say this Blog post is way overdue, is the understatement of the year!

Meeting deadlines is one of my pet peeves, but in November/December, with all the normal reasons for being busy, I also had wedding editing, album creations, and family Christmas sessions – my plate was FULL! So I chose to get the actual full Gallery done on time, and forgo the sneak peek – and these two were so awesome and patient about it!!

Everyone deserves their time to shine on the LmZ Blog though, so better late than never!

Anthony and Allison’s Wedding day was beautiful. Really, whole day was absolutely beautiful.

There’s nothing like being on my end, watching all the little things that makes a person’s wedding day play out so perfectly and lovingly… if I wasn’t already a hopeless romantic, photographing weddings would have certainly fixed that for me! ♥

The proud, almost teary eyed looks from father to daughter, looks of admiration and encouragement from sister to sister, that look, from the groom to his bride, where his eyes are doing more smiling than his face could ever manage…..  The willingness of everyone around, to help in whatever way they can to ensure a perfect, stress free day, and an overall feeling of complete and total love, happiness and support….

That’s the best description I can think of for Anthony & Allison’s Wedding Day.
