August 23, 2013 Healy Wedding

“What a beautiful day to be married!”

I can’t count how many times I heard this exclaimed, with huge smiles, as family & friends eagerly waited to watch Ben & Jen say their “I do’s” and become husband & wife.

Ben & Jen’s ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful. Filled throughout with personal touches, and heartfelt sentiments, and of course, ear to ear smiles throughout the entire day; even through some happy tears… it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.

Sometimes the words come so easily when writing these BPP’s (blog post peek’s!). Other times, I sit and stare at the computer screen for what seems like forrrrrrrever, and only get (maybe) one good sentence in! I’m not a writer, but i feel like it’s important to tell the story behind the images, so I try. Some images tell a story all on their own, and truthfully, if I become who/what I aspire to be, they all will.

I feel like this session was such a great example of that. I’ve sat and thought of what to write, and how I can describe, and tell you all about the remarkable young woman in these images, and I’ll look back at them for inspiration, and there it is.

There are no words needed.

She wears them, carries them…. they’re in her eyes, her smile, and the way she carries herself.

She’s the girl you hope your little girl will grow up to be.

I know her family is incredibly proud of her, and just in awe…. little Lettie’s a Senior!

Here’s your sneak peek!

June 8, 2013 Baby on Board!

Well, we all know how I feel about babies!!

(especially the brand new tiny, wrinkled, pouty lip kind!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!)

Ok…compose.

___

I was very excited to hear of the arrival of the adorable Mr Finn, and even more excited to schedule a photo session with him!

Immediately upon meeting him, I couldn’t get over how alert and focused he was. He would watch me move about the room in such a quietly focused way. Despite all efforts by both Mom & Dad to get him at his most full & tired point for our session, he was definitely aware that there was company, and he didn’t want to miss a thing!

For such a new little man, he has this quiet, inquisitive personality just bursting through those little eyes of his!

And, speaking of personality…. well, take a look;

This boy needs a modeling contract – STAT!!

If you thought he couldn’t possibly get any cuter or make you “awww” at your computer screen any more, you were wrong!

While editing, I opened this image, and shouted so loud with excitement,

that all three of my children came running to see what was going on or who was in trouble!

May 28, 2013 Ross Family

I just LOVE this kid!!

I know, i can sense your eye roll from here… What kid don’t I love, right?

But seriously…this kid’s kind of awesome. Duck faces & all.

Say it isn’t so! You know you can’t!

Let’s get back on track here… after all, this handsome little man didn’t come alone, and this Blog post is, after all, titled ‘Ross Family’ – so let’s not forget about Mom & Dad!!

(Though, since our first ever meeting for a maternity session ended with “You’re cool and all, but it’s you’re baby I’m really after…”, and they still called me back – I think they get me! We’re good!)

The day was unbelievably beautiful and sunny, ALL day…. that is, right up until a half hour before our session! The temp dropped, the fog and clouds rolled in…I was waiting to hear the thunder claps and downpour of rain.  It rained for maybe all of 60 seconds, and there was no thunder to be heard, so we decided to go for it, and just have fun with it – after all, everyone was all ready!!

Storyboard 20x10 template VHV1 1024x512 Ross Family

I’m so glad we did!

We got some great shots, and as you can see… my favorite little man wasn’t going to let a little bit of weather (or a photo session) phase his plans! ♥

May 24, 2013 Clark Wedding

Wayne & Tracy were made for each other.

The way they talk and interact, the way her face lights up when she tells the story of how they finally got together, and the way his eyes seem to smile as he watches her tell it… They make movies about this stuff!!

Naturally, I was delighted to have the opportunity to capture all that and more, on their Wedding Day.

The day was beautiful, and every little detail was just so perfect and personalized.

Both Wayne & Tracy were so calm before the ceremony, and if they were nervous during it, you’d never have known. There was barely a moment that they weren’t looking into each other’s eyes, just beaming, ear to ear.

Tracy had her Mother’s wedding gown altered to wear during her ceremony. She also recently had a tattoo done, in memory of her father, which earned her the title “The Bride with the Dragon Tattoo”.

After the ceremony, Tracy quickly slipped into dress #2, grabbed her husband, and snuck away from the crowd to catch some fun shots of just the two of them, and distract the Groom.  Tracy had quite a surprise up her sleeve…

After the shock wore off, autographs given and Bruins cake eaten, there was dancing to be had… and this Bride & Groom came to dance!

It was an amazing and beautiful day that I was blessed to be able to share in, and now i get to share it with all of you!

May 14, 2013 Birthday Girl!

Its been pretty quiet on the Blog lately…  Too quiet!!

I’ve been keeping busy with sessions, Wedding meetings & prep, planning some Summer Portrait Parties, and also have a lack of progress studio to update you on…. (Ugh!But I’ll stick that in my pocket for another day, another Blog post!

♥   ♥   ♥

Right now, how about a peek at a fabulous little girl’s first Birthday session?!

DSC 0966 1 copy Birthday Girl!

I warned you… I said she was fabulous!

I can’t believe you doubted me…

♥   ♥   ♥

So here’s a little back-story… sometimes fabulous requires sleep. It takes a lot of energy to keep all that fabulocity flowing. This little lady was so excited about our photo session, that she could barely sleep the night before! Like… at all.  So, we made some adjustments and moved quickly so she could go home, catch up on her Zzz’s, and we’d continue to catch her, in all her fabulous-ness, another day.

2 Birthday Girl!

As you can see, it was a, dare I say… Fabulous plan!

(ok, ok, I’ll stop!)

♥   ♥   ♥

Before you go though…

This little lady’s actually not quite one. Her Birthday’s coming up soon though, so make sure you catch your kiss and wish her a very Happy Birthday on your way out!

February 28, 2013 Baby V

Yep, more baby cuddling to speak of!

This time… it’s a BOY!

Baby V is an adorable squishy little man who looooooooooves to eat!

To be fair, I think most newbies love to eat, as their’s not much else for them to do… eat sleep and poop, that’s about it!

(yep, i just said ‘poop’….)

Baby V made sure that two of those things were getting done during our session….and sleeping wasn’t one of them!

DSC 0344 1 Baby V

Just look at him! I imagined him thinking “who the heck is she, and what was going on? I don’t care how tired I am…. these eyes are not closing until  all this foolishness is done!”

That’s ok, I have a favorite about photographing a wide awake newbie… Watching those eyes search and scan and gaze idly, all over the room, and then capturing that split second moment when they finally focus on me & my lens and seem to be in awe.  Love!

DSC 0231 Baby V

Quite the determined little man, awake he stayed…despite getting sleepier and sleepier and eating between nearly every scene change!

DSC 0309 Baby V

I almost had him, laying all cozy on my soft, fuzzy blanket… but the excitement of wearing Dad’s tie must have kept him going!

Of course, the minute our session was over, that boy was snoozin!

It’s always an adventure with newborns, and despite their lack of language skills, they always call the shots during our photo sessions! That’s exactly what makes each and every session different, and why I love it!

I can’t wait to watch this little man grow into his already bursting personality!

February 28, 2013 Baby J

So here’s what else I’ve been up to in 2013…

Snugglin with newbies!!

Anyone who even kind of knows me, knows that I’ve got quite the soft spot for babies…. (haha, soft spot!) SO, how ecstatic am I that everyone around me seems to be having them lately!?! Not only do I get to snuggle, hold and admire them, speaking soft, smiley, high pitched nonsense… but I’ve been able to get my camera on them to catch these precious, fleeting moments of their lives for their parents…. and once they cry or get a full diaper, I get to give them right back!

Sweet Baby J would have been happy to cuddle and snuggle with me all day long, no problem – well, unless it was feeding time, then I better lactate or get out of the way for someone who does! Putting her down for pictures, however, she definitely put me on more of a timer! She’d stare at my lens for a while, (likely wondering if maybe that would lactate) giving me soft sweet looks and hints of smiles, and then she’d give me a little pout and bat those lashes when she was done and it was time for me to move on.

DSC 01011 Baby J

Luckily, I had no problem following that routine, and we were an efficient little team!

DSC 0192 Baby J

Besides…. she’s got an adorably convincing face!

I’m so glad to be able to be even a small part of her journey, watching & documenting her growth & beauty through the coming years!

February 25, 2013 What’s going on?!

Well helloooooo!

Have you missed me? I’ve certainly missed hearing from all of you!! I’ve been super neglectful in my postings and blogging this year…not the best way to start out the year, I know! Howeeeeeever, I do have good reason!!

I really tried to use January as a catch-up and catch my breath month.  Catch up on editing, on Albums, on housework! Plenty of time after that, right? Wrong! Then came the storms. The power outages, school closings, school delays… ALL no good for anyone! I hope you all fared well, and weren’t without power for too long! We invited the in-law’s over and all hunkered down by the wood stove. We even cooked some pretty delicious meals on it too! It was kind of fun… for a little while anyway. Let’s just say we were a little ecstatic when NStar came & saved the day! It’s the little things, like a bathroom light, that really make my day I guess. ;) It doesn’t end there though…. Then there’s February vacation! That just basically piggy backed onto the school closings and delays, and for a while there everything just felt like groundhog day! We did manage to get some fun time in with the kids, go sledding, have a couple of sleep overs, and even get a little cleaning done, so don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t terrible… just not ideal for a work from home momma. I can’t say that I’m not loooooooving this quiet time I have right now though! (time that I just noticed is quickly coming to an end! Whyyyyyy?!)

I also managed to fit in a few photo sessions within all that chaos, that you have yet to see a peek of! I think they deserve a blog post of their own though, so I’ll have to keep you in suspense for just a bit longer! Sorry!

Ok, last but not least on my list of ‘reasons for neglecting you through my lack of social media use’…..

You ready for it? Can i get a drumroll or something?

I’m working on my studio!! Yep, you heard read it right!  Between the catching up and the storms, and school vacations, we’ve moved my entire office and equipment to the new space! I’ve managed to claim the perfect area in my house, and though it needs some  finish work, and some major organizing & redecorating, at some point this year, it should be up and running!! I’m very excited & can’t wait to announce my first availability for an in-studio session! Eeek!!

Now let me know what’s up with you! Fill me in! What have you been up to! Any good storm stories? Let’s catch up!

November 28, 2012 Correa Wedding

Something tells me that starting nearly every Wedding Blog Post with  mentioning how much ‘I just Loooove Weddings’, is going to get a little old for all of you. OR, when you hear the word ‘Wedding’, you’ll think; “that Amy lady, from LmZ Photography LOVES Weddings!”

I can get into your mind! Haha!

(let’s save that thought)

So, this day started out the way all my days do… a bunch of women getting their hair and make-up done, drinking hot tea and mimosa’s, a pregnant woman posing with the champagne she can’t drink, beautiful dresses, a woman in white… y’know, the usual.

6 squares 2 inside rectangles 1024x1024 Correa Wedding

The best part of combining all those events in one day?

Hair & make-up+hot tea & mimosas+friends (both pregnant and without child)+dresses= A beautiful bride!

Ok, so maybe that was  a specially prepared mix. Results may vary. Kids, do not try at home.

For Kristen – perfect combination!  She was ready to see her Groom and finally become Mrs Correa!

That first look;

6 squares 2 inside rectangles21 909x1024 Correa Wedding

…leading to the beginning to the rest of their lives together…

6 squares 2 inside rectangles3 1024x512 Correa Wedding

I do’s all around, a kiss, then a bigger kiss, and last but not least;

“I introduce to you, the new Mr & Mrs Correa”!

They headed to The MonPonsett Inn to kick off their Wedding day celebration!

It was a little chilly, but Jon & Kristen, along with their family & Wedding party,  braved the cold long enough for some beautiful images by the pond.

6 squares 2 inside rectangles5 1024x678 Correa Wedding

After thawing out a bit, some touching speeches were made by the Best Man, Maid of honor, and the Father of the Groom.

6 squares 2 inside rectangles6 1024x977 Correa Wedding

Then? Well then it was time to dance!

These guys just weren’t really into it though….

6 squares 2 inside rectangles7 1024x1020 Correa Wedding

Can’t you tell?

Jon & Kristen, your Wedding Day was beautiful and I’m so grateful to have been able to capture the memory for you.

Congratulations & Best Wishes for a long & happy life together!

(…and babies!!  I heard Kristen’s Mother mention wanting Grand-babies? I’d like to vote ‘yes’ for that as well! The only thing I love more than photographing a Wedding, is Photographing BABIES!!!! No pressure… ;) )
